Alex Phelan

Alex Phelan is a Principal at Updata Partners. He previously worked at Summit Partners, where he backed growth-stage technology companies and was involved in investments including ShipMonk, Sifted, and Markforged. Before Summit, Alex was an investment banker in William Blair’s software group, and earlier focused on venture capital investing at Spark Capital, where his work included an investment in 1stdibs.

Alex holds a B.A. in Business, Entrepreneurship & Organizations from Brown University, where he was a member of the football team.
